“THE
RED SHOES (A Love Story)” – graded ‘A’
Director: Raul
Jorolan
Production: Unitel
Productions, Inc.
Synopsis: The
film is about Lucas who, in 1986, in the evening of the People Power Revolution
in the Philippines, catches sight of the First Lady’s 3000 pairs of shoes at
the Presidential Palace and decides to steal a pair for poetic justice and
love. He had given the right shoe to Chat, his mother, and the left shoe to
Bettina, his childhood sweetheart whose family had suffered from the Marcos
regime.
In 2006, Lucas, now a professional
wedding videographer, is stuck with his past, unable to move on from losing the
love of his life. Similarly, his mother is also stuck in her past, still
grieving the loss of her husband, Lucas’ father, Domingo.
Twenty years have separated the shoes
and, now, Lucas retraces his journey and discovers that Imelda’s red shoes are
his way back to healing and redemption.
